Percepción en los residentes sobre las prácticas religiosas aplicadas en la intervención rehabilitadora de la fundación obra social Las Gaviotas - Cali

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know the perception that residents have of the Foundation Social Work the Seagulls in front of the religious practices that are assumed in their process of intervention. The research was a development from the knowledge that was conducted with 9 residents men with an age range of 18 to 56 years, which we shared with their significance and assessment against the religious practices undertaken for its process. The line of the methodological approach used was qualitative research, responding to techniques such as the semi-structured interview and participant observation supporting this way to a type of qualitative study. As a result, it was found that the rehabilitation in the foundation develops from a position systemic, with the understanding that the individual to be able to rehabilitate themselves must be inserted into the religious system that promotes the institution, this being the perception that is created in the subject from the point of view of religion, with distinction, in the sacred-profane as explained Durkheim. It was then that, on this measure, religiosity with its system of beliefs, crystallized in religious practices serves as a tool facilitating control and cohesion to the subject according to their transformation. In addition to the above research made it possible to create a strong relationship with what is mentioned by the sociologist Goffman on boarding schools, where it was perceived that the foundation complies with the criteria for characterization of an intervention developed under the concept of institution total, in which residents enter into the logic of “conversion” to meet the objective of the institution in this case the rehabilitation, this is developed under the process of desculturalización and mortification of the self.
