Representaciones sociales sobre el conflicto armado en los adolescentes de la comuna 18 de Santiago de Cali

Abstract

The armed conflict in Colombia has more than 60 years impacting the most vulnerable population, this is due to different factors associated with the discrepancies of the state and some groups outside the law. However, there are those who suffer most from the scourge of war, being the children and youth of the country, who are most affected. For this reason, this research aims to show how the social representations of a group of young people from the 18th district of the city of Santiago de Cali are constructed, who have been directly or indirectly victims of the armed conflict. The results of the investigation showed that young people have relevant information about the armed conflict and peace processes and they show a positive attitude towards the dialogues between the parties involved (States and groups outside the law). It also shows how subjects obtain information, either through their own experiences or that of third parties, which is then organized, hierarchized and accommodated to the needs of explaining a reality, in some cases a little confusing. Also the type of attitude they take, through moral mechanisms, providing added value to different situations experienced. It is concluded that the social representation on the armed conflict, static that is given from mechanisms of social interaction, but is a dynamic mechanism that provides or gives shape to a felt and lived reality of the social world.
