Abstract

The following work was carried out in the city of Cali during the period of 2017-2018. This is addressed taking into account the importance of the Department of University Welfare in higher education. For this, different theoretical contributions from the human development approach were taken into account, which would justify the importance for the individual of developing the multiplicity of dimensions that compose it, which are conceived in the environments in which it interacts, the satisfaction of needs and the perception with which they understand their reality to achieve their self-realization. Therefore, the department of University Welfare of the Lumen Gentium Catholic University Foundation is taken as a field of study, to understand how its programs and activities influence the quality of life and the integral formation of the students. For this reason, different research tools are used, in order to know the perception that students have of the Social Work, since this is the chosen population in the university context.
