Abstract

The E-book or digital book that is now on your screen is an effort to group and make visible, a moment that is moving on to the history of education, coping with COVID-19. At UNICATÓLICA we rescued a set of experiences, learning and strategies that have emerged of the mediation of ICT, in the teaching processes, learning and assessment, listening to the voices of our teachers and administrative academic staff.

The global crisis caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), knocked on our doors in the month of March year 2020, when the confinement began in Colombia, which It had already been developing in other spheres of the continent. We were not oblivious to a global reality that seemed to be unpostponable and of which, we did not know much. Among this ignorance, also arose a large dose of uncertainty and fear.

Around the world, a high number of higher education institutions closed their university campuses; their physical doors, but at the same time, they opened their digital doors, and for those of us who did not have this path so strengthened – including us – we faced with courage and commitment for our students, academic continuity and educational quality, we began a frenetic path of learning , thus changing the way we learn, teach and relate to each other.

Little by little, that uncertainty and those fears have been transforming into validation of knowledge and the expectations have been landing; thanks to the effort and teamwork has been able to carry out the academic semesters, being an immeasurable achievement for UNICATOLIC.

Today, starting the semester 2022-1, we can say that we are ready to continue growing along the way education hand in hand with ICT and all the contribution that can give us as the expansion of academic coverage and commitment to educational innovation.
